I had a wonderful time at this hotel surrounded by lush greenery and birdsongs, offering spacious rooms in little Dutch colonial style bungalows that just needed a minor touch-up. The service was exceptional, with staff always smiling and ready to assist, although there was a minor issue with baggage placement. The location was perfect for exploring the cultural triangle and enjoying encounters with wildlife, but the dining experience, while varied, could use improvement.

My stay at this hotel was a mixed bag. The rooms made a perfect base from which to explore this fascinating part of Sri Lanka. They were spacious and terrific, but unfortunately, the room was far too hot, far away, and had lots of bugs. The need for a major update was evident, including the mattresses, a dated shower room, and the lack of coffee making facilities.
